FAQs on cosmetic dentistry and whitening
>What exactly are veneers?
Veneers are thin, custom-designed shells of porcelain or composite that cover the front surface of your teeth. They are excellent for correcting chips, gaps, and changing the color or shape of teeth while maintaining a natural look.
How long do whitening treatments last?
We are certain they will not last forever since staining from coffee, wine, and other pigments will occur over time. It is hard to say for certain how many months it will last since everybody has a different lifestyle and diet. While teeth whitening makes your smile dramatically brighter immediately, You must maintain good oral hygiene and consider touch-up treatments to keep your white smile vibrant. Therefore we would advise to patient to time their teeth whitening procedures a minimum of 2 weeks to 1 month prior to attending any major personal events.
Are these treatments painful?
Most procedures aren't usually painful, but some sensitivity may occur during tooth preparation (for fillings or crown preparation), and during whitening procedures. We will prescribe pain management medication if needed.
